Plain-English policy

Effective July 28, 2026
The short version
Headline Hijinks does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information, browsing activity, website content, or the headlines you enter. Everything happens locally inside your browser.
Information we collect
None. The extension has no analytics, advertising, accounts, or remote servers.
How the extension works
When you click the extension, Chrome grants it temporary access to the active tab. The extension uses that access to locate a likely main headline and replace its visible text with the text you provide. The original headline is kept temporarily in that page so you can restore it. Refreshing or closing the page removes the change.
Permissions
- activeTab: temporary access to the page only after you activate the extension.
- scripting: applies and restores the requested headline change on that page.
Data sharing and retention
No data is sent to us or to third parties, so there is nothing for us to retain, share, or delete. The extension does not use cookies or browser storage.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. For questions, use the contact information available at pavelkerbel.com or visit the support page.
